Prince William & Kate Middleton Tour Peter Jackson’s Military Plane Museum
When you’ve got the kind of money Peter Jackson has made with his “Lord of the Rings” and “Hobbit” franchises, it’s only natural to buy a bunch of old war planes and start a museum.
The New Zealand-born director had the privilege of hosting Prince William and Kate Middleton at the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre in Wellington today (April 10), and he gave them a proper tour of his military aircraft collection.
And after Mr. Jackson took some cell phone footage of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge inside his planes, they headed inside for a special presentation- an aviation helmet lined in possum skin for Prince George.
Museum executive Jane Orphan explained, “We were very keen to mark the occasion with a gift and this is all about preserving the heritage for future generations, we thought what better than to give then a gift for the young Prince.”
