Justin Bieber Receives Support From Celebrities Despite Barrage of Racist Remarks
He’s not exactly the most beloved singer on earth these days, but Justin Bieber still has some famous friends standing by his side.
Following a pair of racial slur videos that surfaced this week, the “As Long As You Love Me” singer has been slammed with criticism from all sides.
However, Russell Brand thinks Justin should be given a free pass despite the fact that both Paula Deen and Donald Sterling were both crucified for saying arguably less offensive things.
The “Get Him To The Greek” guy declared, "It was ages ago when he used to have that haircut. You can’t do him for stuff he [has] done when he had that haircut. Unless we’re going to explicitly say the role of celebrities is we're going to make them really, really famous and then we’re going to destroy them and rip them up in a public square with fish hooks, which, you know as long as you don't get round to me, I’m not against. But we might as well own up to it if that is what we’re up to, otherwise just let him off. Of course it’s wrong to say the N-word, but he’s a child."
Furthermore, 50 Cent is also standing up for the Biebs- "I don’t think he’s racist. I don’t think he even knows who he is at this point -- he’s so young. When you see people become huge stars real early, it’s tough for them… You have to grow up with all these expectations. I think Justin’s still a baby and he’s lost."
Previously, boxing champ Floyd Mayweather came to the “Baby” singer’s defense- "Justin has been nothing but kind to me, my daughters & sons over the years. We all make mistakes when we are young, it’s part of growing up."
