With his new HBO series "Looking" already shocking critics, Jonathan Groff fronts the February 2014 issue of Out magazine.

While rocking a few poses for the Nino Muñoz-shot spread, the 28-year-old actor chatted about the new series and revealed some details about his character, Patrick.

Highlights from Mr. Groff's Q&A session are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Out!

On "Looking":
"Our show is less about people at the beginning in their twenties figuring out who they are and more about people stepping into their lives in their thirties and forties and finding their place in the world."

On his part as Patrick:
"The very first scene of the pilot of me going out to the woods to get a hand job. It's a very, very small hand job, like two seconds long, and the guy who gave it to me was very hairy - not even hipster hairy... like, gym-teacher hairy."

On the show's location:
"When I came on board, it was still unclear whether we'd shoot in L.A. or San Francisco - everyone always says it's easier to shoot in L.A. - but for me, it was like, 'We have to shoot in San Francisco. It needs to be about that city.' Maybe it's the trams - there's a melancholy to it. Fog coming in. Something wistful."

On San Francisco:
"It was the last port of call for all the guys in the Navy, and the ones who were just stayed there because they didn't want to go back to their lives. The street where I was staying smelled like jasmine. I rode my bike every day to set. I was in heaven."
