Jon Hamm Talks Vocal Polyp on “Jimmy Kimmel Live”
Moving on from his tight trousers, the tabloids have had a field day with news that Jon Hamm is having vocal cord surgery next week.
And the “Mad Men” actor cleared up all the death rumors during his interview on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last night (September 25).
Hamm began, "I've got a polyp on my vocal cord. It sounds worse than it is, although it doesn't sound as bad as how the National Enquirer reported it, which was that I was coughing up blood and probably have cancer.”
"I was like, 'That's good to put that out there. Thanks guys.' Because you know, I cough up blood—never,” he added.
Jon also had to put his family at ease after his sister called to find out if he was really on his deathbed. “[She said], ‘We just read that you’re probably going to die.’ I was like, ‘What? When? Who have you been talking to?’”
As for the coming close of “Mad Men,” Hamm noted, "I've gotten sort of broad strokes as to how it will end. I'm actually okay with that. We don't know how our lives are going to end. I apparently will die of cancer, according to the National Enquirer. Soon! And I wouldn't want to know that."
