Last year, Joey McIntyre had just finished the Boston Marathon five minutes before two homemade bombs exploded, killing three people and injuring more than 260, but that didn't stop him from running the famed race again this year.

On Monday (April 21), the New Kids on the Block member shared photos via Twitter from the starting line and again after finishing the race, tweeting "3:48:11 baby!!! #BostonMarathon . Couldn't have done it without you guys!! Big congrats 4 an amazing 3:50 by my man @dannywood! #celebrate."

Meanwhile, the events of last year still playing on the minds of the nation, celebrities shared their well wishes with runners competing in the grueling marathon.

President Obama: "Congratulations to all the Boston Marathon runners. #BostomStrong"

Gisele Bundchen: "Good morning! Good luck to all the marathon runners! #BostonMarathon @Bestrong #GoNancy"

Ellen DeGeneres: "Wish I could be there cheering the runners. If you're there & you're reading this, will you yell, "Ellen says woo!"? Thanks. #BostonMarathon"

Sarah Michelle Gellar: "Congrats to #MebKeflezighi and everyone who ran the #BostonMarathon today. #BostonStrong"

Mark Wahlberg: "#BostonStrong you will always be my home and the greatest city in the world. #loveboston."

American Meb Keflezigh won the marathon with a time of 2 hours, 8 minutes, 37 seconds.
