Celebrities Mourn the Loss of Joan Rivers Via Twitter
She spent the last week fighting for her life, and sadly Joan Rivers passed away on Thursday (September 5) due to complications during throat surgery.
And shortly thereafter, some of our favorite stars began sharing their own thoughts with heartfelt messages on the Twitter social media website.
Fellow comedian Jimmy Kimmel wrote, “We lost a great one in @Joan_Rivers - she was funny all the way to the end,” and Kathy Griffin gushed, “A legend, a friend, a mentor, an icon, and wildly funny. One of a kind. RIP.”
Demi Lovato chimed in, RIP Joan Rivers... You made fun of my boobies just last week and it was an HONOR. Thanks for making so many people laugh here on Earth,” and Katy Perry posted, “What's the point of wearing all these dumb costumes if Joan's not here to rip them apart RIP Joan Rivers. You are a one of a one.”
Larry King lamented, @Joan_Rivers was a dear & wonderful friend who I've known for 45yrs. Great guest, pal, comedian & mother. We will never see her likes again,” and Victoria Justice noted, “I just heard the sad news... RIP Joan Rivers :( My sincerest condolences go out to her family.”
“Joan Rivers will always be a pioneer. She paved the way for a lot of comedians. I’m very sad she’s gone,” wrote Ellen DeGeneres, while Anna Kendrick added, “RIP Joan Rivers. Being publicly told that my dress is hideous will never feel quite as awesome. You will be truly missed.”
And country legend Brad Paisley shared, The world will miss your incredible wit @Joan_Rivers. I sure loved getting to know you. Rest in Peace you hilarious soul.”
