Jimmy Kimmel Goes “Behind the Scandalabra” with Shonda Rhimes
Always looking to change things up, Jimmy Kimmel celebrated the Season 3 finale of “Scandal” by grilling creator Shonda Rhimes on “ Jimmy Kimmel Live” last night (April 17).
Titled “Behind the Scandalabra,” the unique episode ended up nabbing Kimmel a season’s high rating of 3.4/8, putting him ahead of both “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and “Late Night with David Letterman.”
And during her chat, Shonda talked about how she breaks it to her actors when it’s time for their character to say farewell and die.
“You really have to have sort of have the topic sentence ready. The first thing you have to say, ‘I’m sorry you’re going to die, and here’s how and why, and we love you’…You can’t call and sort of back into it, because that’s a little bit cruel.”
As for the future of Olivia Pope (spoiler alert!), Rhimes noted, “She did quit her job. You might watch her on the beach somewhere; we’ll have to see next season.”
