Jessica Simpson Confirms Weight Watchers Deal
After giving birth last month, Jessica Simpson is on a mission to shed the pounds she packed on during her pregnancy, finally confirming Weight Watchers will help her snap into shape with a reported $4 million deal.
The "Fashion Star" mentor tweeted Wednesday, "So excited to be a part of the @WeightWatchers family!," and recently explained to People that she's ditching her yo-yo dieting for an overall healthier lifestyle.
After unveiling her daughter, Maxwell Drew, Jess told magazine, "I think anybody who's gone through a pregnancy, after they have the baby, it's like, 'I need to do something about this. For me, I really want to do something that is a lifestyle, because in the past, I've been known to yo-yo diet."
Explaining how the program works, the new mother wrote on her Facebook page, “The cool thing about the program is that it focuses on healthy habits for the long-term (and I can still indulge in my guilty pleasures every now and then, too), I have actually gotten a group of friends together who are going to be doing it with me.”
Jessica was reportedly planning to join Weight Watchers before pre-pregnancy, but stopped counting the points as soon as she figured out she was expecting telling, "I was like, 'I'm going to enjoy my pregnancy,' and I did. I ate very healthy, but I did indulge some of my cravings – and that's okay because I know I can work it off now."
Although she has yet to step on a scale or start working out, the singer is taking baby steps towards reaching her post-baby figure admitting, "There's not a goal weight – I just want to feel normal and fixate on inches," she says. "I really want to set small goals, so I'm constantly reaching goals and not looking at something so far ahead."
The 31-year-old also opened up about her daughter in the interview - who was born on May 1 weighing 9lb 13oz - revealing that she goes through withdrawal when she's not breast feeding her, "It's become a full-on job. It's the worst if I have to pump and give Eric a bottle to give her. I miss holding her and having that closeness."
