Jennifer Lawrence Named Best Female at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards
She’d better get used to all the pomp and circumstance of industry events, because Jennifer Lawrence will be collecting trophies for years to come. And last night she scored the Best Female Performance at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards.
The “Winter’s Bone” babe scored a golden popcorn for her work in “The Hunger Games,” in which she plays heroine Katniss Everdeen.
Unfortunately, Jennifer was busy working on a new project in Prague, so she sent a video to accept her award, noting, "Thank you, MTV and all the fans, for this award. I want to thank [author] Suzanne Collins for creating such an iconic, powerful character in Katniss Everdeen. It's been such an honor to portray her and have audiences around the world embrace this movie."
Additionally, Miss Lawrence also appeared in a spoof clip about the return of archery to the big screen, along with fake expert Joel McHale as ‘Lester Boonshaft.’
Jennifer and JJ Abrams both gave their take on working with Boonshaft, and neither had many good things to say about their respective experiences.
Lawrence shared, "Lester Boonshaft was hired to be my archery teacher for 'The Hunger Games.’ Did I find it out that an archery teacher didn't know how to hold a bow and arrow? Yeah."
She continued, "I made the mistake of giving Lester my phone number. At first, he would just call and give me tips about archery. Now, it's just this [holding up blurred-out cell phone]. I don't even know what part of the body that is."
