Given all the buzz about Jay Leno's upcoming replacement on “The Tonight Show,” Jimmy Fallon decided to capitalize on the moment with a hilarious, good-natured song.

“Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” began last night (April 1) with an appropriate April Fool’s Day spoof in which Leno called in for a chat.

Jay Leno already retired from “The Tonight Show” once, only to return a short time later, but it seems he may be ready to hang it up when his contract is up in 2014.

And if all goes according to plan, it stands to reason that Jimmy Fallon would be a suitable successor, as he’s knocked it out of the park as the host of “Late Night” at 12:35.

He’s never been one to self-censor and Jimmy Kimmel was up to his usual shenanigans in his recent interview with Playboy magazine.

The late night comic first praised “The Tonight Show” host Jay Leno, noting, “He’s not just a smart politician but also a smart guy.”
