James Franco Signs On for “Ex-Gay” Role
He’s always looking for a way to stretch himself as an actor and James Franco may have found the perfect project.
The “Spring Breakers” hunk will star as “ex-gay” activist Michael Glatze in a new flick from producer Gus Van Sant, and filming will commence this summer.
Franco previously worked with Van Sant in the 2008 movie “Milk,” so he’s no stranger to dabbling with homosexual themes.
Back in 2007, Glatze penned an editorial for WND. He wrote, "We cannot see the truth when we’re blinded by homosexuality. We believe, under the influence of homosexuality, that lust is not just acceptable, but a virtue. But there is no homosexual 'desire' that is apart from lust."
Franco previously told the Daily Beast, "It’s not like it’s my mission to tell the stories of as many gay men as possible, although in some cases, I think it is the point. I guess that a lot of the figures that I love were gay."
