This morning the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced their nominees for the forthcoming Oscars, and unfortunately there were a few serious omissions.

For instance, many people were shocked to see that both “Saving Mr. Banks” and actress Emma Thompson failed to receive a nod in the Best Pictures and Best Supporting Actress categories, respectively.

She has an impressive body of work and plenty of Tinseltown credibility, so when it came time to audition for “Inside Llewyn Davis,” Carey Mulligan was admittedly a little too lax.

During her interview on “The Graham Norton Show,” the “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” babe confessed she was a little tipsy when she made a video to send to the studio on her mobile phone.


The Art Directors Guild Releases its Nominations

Preparing for the 18th annual Art Directors Guild's Excellence in Production Design Awards, nominations were released today (January 8), which included box office hit films "Gravity," "The Great Gatsby" and "American Hustle."

Among the TV nominations were, "Arrested Development," "Breaking Bad" and "Behind the Candelabra," and the movie nominations are broken down into three categories: period film, covering movies set in the pre-Civil War south through the late 1970's-early 1980's, fantasy film, and contemporary film.


AFI Announces Top 10 Films and TV Shows

Honoring the best and brightest on screen this year, the American Film Institute announced its movie and television winners for the annual awards.

Determined by a jury of AFI members, scholars, film and television artists, critics, and AFI trustees, the ten film honorees are "American Hustle," "Captain Phillips," "Fruitvale Station," "Gravity," "Her," "Inside Llewyn Davis," "Nebraska," "Saving Mr. Banks," "12 Years a Slave," and "The Wolf of Wall Street."


Gravity” & “Her” Tie for Best Film at 2013 Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards

They’re both pretty unconventional flicks, and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association awarded their Best Film honors to “Her” and “Gravity.”

Over the weekend, the LAFCA announced the winners of this year’s trophies, and “Gravity” also snagged the top spot for Best Director (Alfonso Cuaron), Best Editing (Cuaron and Mark Sanger) and Best Cinematography.


“HER” Scores Best Film Honors from National Board of Review

Stepping out for a swanky affair, Carey Mulligan showed up at the BFI London Film Festival on Tuesday evening (October 15).

The “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” starlet hammed it up in a gorgeous yellow dress outside the Odeon Leicester Square for the premiere of her new flick “Inside Llewyn Davis.”
