"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" Holds Grand NYC Premiere

Stepping out to promote their highly-anticipated film, the stars of “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” took to The Ziegfeld Theater for what was a grand New York City premiere on Thursday (December 6).

All looking dapper in their red carpet best, co-stars Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Andy Serkis and Martin Freeman worked the press line and greeted fans before heading in to the main spectacle.

The “Curious Case of Benjamin Button” babe looked gorgeous as she strolled around outside the Embassy Theatre in Wellington, sporting a pink and white top with black trousers.

In this clip of the highly-anticipated adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic novel, Gandalf the Grey gives Bilbo Baggins his trusty sword "Sting" (that is eventually gifted to Frodo in The Lord of the Rings).

Director Peter Jackson Denies "The Hobbit" Animal Abuse

After coming under fire for as many as 27 animal deaths on the set of "The Hobbit" trilogy, director Peter Jackson has come out to deny any abuse.

Earlier, four New Zealand-based wranglers who worked on the production claimed that the farm that housed over 150 animals used for the film had bluffs and sinkholes that were responsible for the deaths of 27 horses, goats, sheep, and chickens.
