Peter Jackson spent $315 million to make “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” so it’s all the more disturbing that over 8.4 million people illegally downloaded it last year.

The JRR Tolkien tale was the most pirated flick of 2013 per a report from TorrentFreak, putting it ahead of “Django Unchained” (8.1 million) and “Fast and Furious 6” (7.9 million).
