Opening up about his highly-anticipated upcoming flick, Peter Jackson dishes some details on the filming of “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.”

Chatting about the recent outdoor production in New Zealand, Jackson reveals on a video blog post, "Dwarves in boats; everybody thinks they're a sailor," as a rubber raft full of some of the movie's characters drift by in the background.

It’s just under a year away, and “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” has just treated anticipating theatergoers to the film's first official poster and teaser trailer.

With the two and a half minute clip available for viewing in the player above, it certainly looks like Peter Jackson and his cronies are whipping up yet another delicious concoction of action, adventure, and fantasy for the forthcoming 3D, 2D, and IMAX 3D feature, due in theaters on December 14, 2012.

"The Hobbit" Production Video #2: Watch Now!

Offering up additional insight into the the highly-anticipated film, director Sir Peter Jackson has released a second production video from the set of "The Hobbit" movies in New Zealand.

The 10-minute diary, taped at the end of the first block of filming, follows Jackson as he and his team set out to find suitable filming conditions while surveying the land for proper backdrops for both "Unexpected Journey" and "There And Back Again."

Evangeline Lilly Joins the Cast of "The Hobbit"

Joining next year's highly-anticipated fantasy flick, Evangeline Lilly has officially signed on to star in "The Hobbit."

The "Lost" actress is set to play a new character in the two-movie version of the J.R.R. Tolkien novel - as she'll be portraying a woodland elf named Tauriel.

“The Hobbit” Films’ Release Dates Announced

Everybody loved the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, and now director Peter Jackson is working on a pair of new prequel films.

“The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” is slated for a December 14, 2012 release and “The Hobbit: There and Back Again” will come out on December 13, 2013.

Calling all “Lord of the Rings” fans, director Peter Jackson has released some new photos from his upcoming movie “The Hobbit: Part 1.”

In the shots that he posted on his Facebook page earlier this week, the trilogy director appears in the home of a Hobbit while seeming to have dropped about 100lbs.
