Josh Elliott Jumps Ship From “Good Morning America”
He’s usually a staple of the ABC morning spread, but Josh Elliott was replaced by Amy Robach on “Good Morning America” on Monday (March 31).
The longtime anchor was reportedly absent on a pre-scheduled vacation day, however George Stephanopoulos noted that Elliott had indeed accepted a new job with NBC Sports.
George explained, "He is going to back to his roots, reporting on the NFL and the Olympics on NBC Sports. He let us know last night, and, Josh, it has been a great run with you here on GMA. We're very happy you're going to be pursuing your passion."
Referencing the fact that Stephanopoulos is now the only male team member, Lara Spencer joked, "The estrogen is flowing." And Ms. Robach sounded glad for the new gig- “Thank goodness I’ve ridden this bicycle before.”
Meanwhile, “Today” star Al Roker posted a silly message to Elliot via Twitter, referencing Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s split- “Welcome, Josh Elliot to NBC Sports after your conscious uncoupling from GMA/ABC.”
