Queen Elizabeth Checks In on “Game of Thrones” Set
She’s the beloved leader of Great Britain’s Royal Family so it’s no wonder Queen Elizabeth was permitted to visit the set of “Game of Thrones” in Dublin, Ireland on Tuesday (June 24).
As the 88-year-old monarch and her husband Prince Phillip toured the King’s Landing location, show runners David Benioff and Dan Weiss served as her personal guides.
Meanwhile, cast member Maisie Williams told Radio 5 Live, “It is extremely exciting but awfully strange, too. I panic a little bit! I don't know if I'm going to talk to her, I'm just going to smile."
And while Queen Elizabeth II was offered a chance to sit on the infamous Iron Throne (comprised of many swords) as Lena Headey, Sophie Turner and Kit Harrington looked on, she reportedly declined.
