Disney Announces “Frozen Northern Lights” TV Shorts and Books!

Given that it earned more than $1.27 billion at the box office back in 2013, “Frozen” is certainly due for a slew of offshoot projects.

Earlier this week, Disney announced a spinoff story called “Frozen Northern Lights” and there will be books and television shorts on the way very soon.

When “Frozen” became the highest-grossing animated movie of all time ($1.2B worldwide), the team at Disney knew that a sequel was inevitable.

To that end, Kristen Bell told Collider magazine that she and the rest of the cast, including Idina Menzel and Josh Gad, are slated to begin work on “Frozen 2” in the coming weeks.

Showing off their penchant for charity, Kristen Bell joined forces with Idina Menzel at a benefit for A BroaderWay Foundation on Sunday (March 13).

Accompanied by “Frozen” costar Josh Gad, the two lovely ladies performed several duets from their animated blockbuster and posted photos via social media.


“Frozen” Broadway Show Coming in 2018!

Given the enormous success of the “Frozen” motion picture, it’s not surprising that Disney is developing a fully-fledged Broadway production due to open in two years.

According to the company’s rep, Frozen Broadway will kick off in Spring 2018, just after a new holiday television special to air on ABC at the end of 2017.

It’s the highest-earning animated film of all time, and “Frozen” is getting its very own attraction at Walt Disney World’s Epcot Center.

Slated to open in 2016, “Frozen Ever After” will replace the 27-year-old Maelstrom ride at the Norway Pavilion and promises to be just as magical as the fan-favorite flick. Creative executive Kathy Mangum told WSJ, “What we try to do is take you back to the movie without retelling that story. This is a celebration of the characters, a way for guests who love the film to experience it in a completely different way.”

Disney Declares: “Frozen 2” Is In The Works!

Back in November of 2013, audiences flocked to the theater to see “Frozen,” and now there’s a full-length feature film sequel on its way.

During the Disney shareholders meeting on Thursday (March 12), John Lasseter announced that creators Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee will develop the project- “We enjoyed making [the short film] Frozen Fever so much and being back in that world with those characters. Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we’re taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that.”
