Mark Ballas May Miss DWTS Finale After Weekend Injury

He was all set to compete with Candace Cameron Bure in the Season 18 finale of “Dancing With the Stars,” but Mark Ballas may find himself on the sideline instead.

The 27-year-old dancer suffered a serious injury while rehearsing on Sunday (May 18) and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Last week on "Dancing with the Stars," the celebrities and their partners took on party anthems, with Meryl Davis and her pro partner Maks Chmerkovskiy landing on top of the leader board with an impressive 40/40 for their tango to Calvin Harris' "Feel So Close."

Saying good-bye to the competition was "Price is Right" host Drew Carey, who with his partner Cheryl Burke, couldn't garner enough call in votes to push through another week.

Last week on "Dancing with the Stars," the pairs danced to songs from popular Disney movies, with Big Time Rush's James Maslow and his pro partner Peta Murgatroyd topping the leaderboard with their contemporary routine to "Let it Go" from "Frozen," which garnered a perfect 40/40.

On the opposite end of the scoring was "The Price is Right" host Drew Carey and partner Cheryl Burke, who only nabbed a 28/40 for their quickstep to "Friend Like Me" from "Aladdin."

Last week on "Dancing with the Stars," the celebrities had to switch pro partners, who were chosen by fans via two weeks of voting.

Olympic gold medalist Meryl Davis and Val Chmerkovskiy flew to the top of the leader board by grabbing a near perfect 39/40, while Candice Cameron Bure and Tony Dovolani wound up on the bottom with a score of 28/40.

This week, the stars and their pros were forced to dance with new partners as part of a switch up voted on by fans. Adding to the fun, "DWTS" alum Julianne Hough lent a hand at the judges table for the evening.
