Valerie Harper Eliminated on "Dancing with the Stars"
Another fan favorite was sent home on Monday night's (October 7) episode of "Dancing with the Stars," as Valerie Harper and her pro partner Tristan MacManus hung up their dancing shoes.
The "Mary Tyler Moore" actress, who revealed a cancer diagnosis in March, couldn't make up for poor scores last week and once again had the lowest marks for the evening for her Viennese Waltz.
Among the other celebrity dancers, "Glee's" Amber Riley, "High School Musical's" Corbin Bleu and "Showgirls" actress Elizabeth Berkley all tired for the top spot with 27 points each.
Landing on the lower end of the score sheet with Ms. Harper were actor Brant Daugherty and comedian Bill Engvall, who both bested Valerie with a score of 21.
Saying her goodbyes as before departing from the dance floor, the 74-year-old told the audience "It has been absolutely wonderful. Completely unique. Like nothing else in the world that you would ever do. And it was an opportunity for me to carry a message to folks, not just with cancer, but with whatever challenge, like our song tonight - carry on, carry on."
With judge Len Goodman off for the evening, former "DWTS" dancer Julianne Hough acted as the third judge on the panel alongside Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.
