Conan O’Brien Sends One Last Jab to Jay Leno
Jay’s final showed debuted Thursday (February 6) after 22 years in the business, and while his enemies Jimmy Kimmel and David Letterman paid their respects, Conan chose a different route.
"The Olympics start airing tonight on NBC. It's very cool. That's right, NBC has the Olympics," O'Brien said. "It's a big deal. NBC will finally get to show somebody who is OK with passing the torch."
After the audience’s reaction to his jab at Leno, O'Brien gave a big thumbs up to the camera and started laughing. "I allowed myself one," he explained. "But it was a good one."
In 2009, Conan was the first to replace Leno on “The Tonight Show,” but he was quickly forced out less than a year later so Leno could have his job back.
Jimmy Fallon takes is the next candidate to take the reins from Jay.
