Claire Danes and "Homeland" Stars Mingle with D.C. Notables, Including CIA
It’s about to enter its third season, so how better to mark the occasion than a premiere screening of Showtime’s “Homeland” in the nation’s capitol? Star Claire Danes (donning a Jamie Wolf bracelet) mingled with her co-stars and various notables at the event, held Monday night (September 9) at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington D.C.
The entire cast took a private tour of the CIA earlier in the day, including meeting with a boardroom full of intelligence officers and CIA Director John Brennan.
The actress, who plays Carrie Mathison, said it was her second visit to the agency. "It's always so thrilling and moving to meet the people who really do so much to protect and defend our country," she said.
The one-time star of another acclaimed show, “My So-Called Life,” said that her troubled character on “Homeland” didn’t phase the CIA agents. "Obviously they acknowledged that this is a fairly imaginative take on reality," she said. "But I think they appreciated the emotional honesty and integrity of it."
