Christina Applegate in Talks to Star in "Vacation" Remake
After abruptly leaving her NBC sitcom, "Up All Night," Christina Applegate is reportedly about to sign on for the upcoming "Vacation" reboot.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the "Anchorman" star is in final negotiations to play Ed Helms' wife in New Line's reboot of the popular National Lampoon's film.
In the new version, Rusty (formerly played by Anthony Michael Hall) takes his family on a road trip similar to the ones he and his parents took when he was growing up.
His strong-willed wife whose interest may be waning will be played by Ms. Applegate. Directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, the comedy can only hope to capture the success of the original, which spurred additional films including "Christmas Vacation" and "Vegas Vacation."
