"The Voice" Judges Feud Over Tony Lucca Performance
The competition show hopeful performed a somewhat modified version of Jay-Z's "99 Problems", which brought out mixed feelings between the Maroon 5 frontman and the "Burlesque" babe.
Lucca chose to leave the word "b****"" out of the song, which originally states, "I got 99 problems but a b**** aint one."
When the performance came to a close, Blake Shelton stated the alteration to the lyrics was "really cool" while Cee Lo Green had positive comments, saying he "liked it". But, Miss Aguilera had a different take on the whole thing.
Although the "Beautiful" singer said that she thought the vocals "sounded great,” she believed the choice in music was “a little derogatory towards women.”
Jumping up to defend his guy, Levine said, "We’re not referring to women,” adding that the song was a “metaphor” for the various problems that are “bringing you down.”
"Girl problems,” she fired back. “If that’s how you have to get points… ”
Even though it seemed like the two might just take off the gloves, Adam eased the tension by later saying, “I love you Christina,” proceeding to rip off his top which revealed a sparkly shirt that read, “Team XTina.”
