Chris Pine: Guilty of DUI in New Zealand
On March 1st he was arrested for drunk driving and this morning (March 17) Chris Pine was convicted of DUI at the Ashburton District Court.
The “Star Trek” hunk was fined $340 and ordered not to drive for six months after he pled guilty to operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .11 (the legal limit is .08).
Pine’s lawyer requested “discharge without conviction, as a conviction would outweigh the gravity of the offense” and could cause visa issues in Canada and other countries.
However, the judge opted to convict Chris, explaining, “This issue of a visa will be a complication, but you’re no different to other people who may wish to travel to Canada.”
Pine, who is in New Zealand to film “Z for Zachariah” confessed to drinking four vodkas before attempting to drive back to his hotel.
