Chris Brown Diagnosed with PTSD & Bipolar Disorder upon Return from Rehab
Successfully completing his stint in anger management rehab, Chris Brown received an official diagnosis in LA court on Friday (February 28).
Attending a probation progress hearing involving his assault on Rihanna, the rehabilitation center allegedly stated that Brown suffers from Bipolar II disorder, insomnia and post-traumatic stress disorder.
A statement from the facility read, "Mr. Brown became aggressive and acted out physically due to his untreated mental health disorder, severe sleep deprivation, inappropriate self-medicating and untreated PTSD."
TMZ reports that the 24-year-old is taking care of himself, using medication and relaxation techniques, and doctors said that he also tested negative for drugs, telling the court that his good "attitude has been beyond exemplary in regard to his community service responsibilities."
In preparation for the hearing, Chris Tweeted on Thursday, writing, "Court tomorrow. Prayers and Positivity. Thank you so much GOD and team breezy for everything you do," adding today, "Never really goes the way u plan. #LIFE."
