Chloe Moretz Scores Broadway Role in “The Library”
Given the tense situation with school shootings over the past decade, it was only a matter of time before the Broadway community addressed the issue.
And now Chloe Moretz will star in “The Library,” written by Scott Z. Burns and directed by Steven Soderbergh.
According to the synopsis, Moretz will play a high school student named Caitlin Gabriel who survives a tragedy at her school only to struggle with the media’s convoluted coverage of the event.
Burns told Broadway World, "I wanted to write a play about the stories we tell each other in the face of calamity -- the pretty lies and the brutal truths. This is something Steven and I have discussed over the last decade while making movies -- What is the value of the truth? What is the cost of a lie? How does a story drift as it moves through time?"
“The Library” is slated to run at The Public’s Newman Theater beginning on March 25th, with the final performance scheduled for April 27th.
