Always one to make his opinion known, Rush Limbaugh addressed CBS's hiring of Stephen Colbert for "The Late Show," on his iconic Talk Radio show.

Although many celebrities applauded the decision to give Colbert the gig, the famous political speaker stated that, "CBS has just declared war on the heartland of America."

"No longer is comedy going to be a covert assault on traditional American values, conservatives, now it’s just wide out in the open," the 63-year-old disc jockey explained on Thursday's (April 10) episode of his talk show. "What this hire means is a redefinition of what is funny and a redefinition of what is comedy."

Continuing, Rush stated, "It's the media planting a flag here...There's no unity in this hire. They've hired a partisan, so-called 'comedian' to run a comedy show. So that's what I think."
