Ralph Waite of "The Waltons" Passes Away at Age 85
Leaving a rift throughout Hollywood, Ralph Waite patriarch of "The Waltons" passed away in Palm Desert, CA on Thursday (February 13) at age 85.
A classic television star, Waite was the front man on the hit CBS series for nine seasons throughout the 1970's, and also starred in several movies based upon its success.
Waite was also nominated for an Emmy Award for "Cool Hand Luke," "Five Easy Pieces," "Days of Our Lives," "Carnivale," and a handful of other series and movies.
He was also married three times, was a former member of the United State Marine Corps, and most recently made appearances on hit shows, "NCIS" and "Bones."
The television icon is survived by his third wife, two daughters and stepson, and he will be sorely missed.
