President George H.W. Bush Celebrates 90th Birthday By Skydiving!
He’s always been a bit of a daredevil so when former President George H.W. Bush was deciding on how to celebrate his 90th birthday, the standard cake, candles and party hats just couldn’t cut it.
Instead, Bush took to the sky for a tandem parachute jump with Sgt. 1st Class Mike Elliott, a retired member of the Army’s Golden Knights parachute team.
Prior to the leap, which took place in Kennebunkport, Maine, George tweeted, “It’s a wonderful day in Maine- in fact, nice enough for a parachute jump.”
President Barack Obama told granddaughter Jenna Bush Hager, “He is as fine a man as I know, and whenever I see him with you guys, you can tell how beloved he is by his kids and his grandkids. And I just want him to know that from the whole Obama family, we wish him all the best."
