Donald Sterling: BANNED From the NBA
Everyone from Oprah Winfrey to Snoop Dogg to David Letterman has criticized LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling for his secretly taped racist remarks, and now it seems he’s had the book thrown at him as well.
Moments ago, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver held a press conference during which he announced Mr. Sterling will no longer have any ties to the National Basketball Association.
Silver declared, "I am banning Mr. Sterling for life from any association with the Clippers organization or the NBA.”
Additionally, Donald will be fined $2.5 million and Silver has pledged to do everything in his power, according to the NBA Constitution, to force Sterling to sell his ownership of the team.
When asked if Magic Johnson would be allowed to buy the Clippers, Adam noted, “Magic is a friend of the league and always welcome here.”
