Legendary Actress Lauren Bacall Dies, Hollywood Mourns

In the wake of Robin Williams’ death, Tinseltown just experienced yet another profound loss as Lauren Bacall passed away on Tuesday (August 12).

The Golden Age actress, who worked in film and theater, was 89 and the Humphrey Bogart Estate issued a statement via Facebook.

The “Patch Adams” actor’s son Zak shared, “Yesterday, I lost my father and a best friend and the world got a little grayer. I will carry his heart with me every day. I would ask those that loved him to remember him by being as gentle, kind, and generous as he would be. Seek to bring joy to the world as he sought.”


Robin Williams’ Four Finished Films Are Still Forthcoming

As the world mourns the loss of acting Robin Williams today (August 12), the Marin County Sheriff's Office revealed details about the late actor's suicide this afternoon.

The coroner's office performed an autopsy revealing that the cause of death was a suicide from asphyxia due to hanging by a belt. Williams was 63 and had suffered for years from periodic bouts of substance abuse and depression. Just last month, Williams announced he was returning to a 12-step treatment program.
