Pete Seeger Passes Away
It’s still early in the year and already we’ve lost a prolific force in the music realm as folk singer Pete Seeger has died.
The much-loved musician was 94 years old when he passed away on Monday (January 27) at New York Presbyterian Hospital.
Kitama Cahill Jackson, Pete’s grandson, told CNN that he died of natural causes and that his demise was not caused by his December heart surgery.
Jackson noted, "He was a second father to me, he was a friend, he was a best friend. He was just this wonderful, genuine person."
"He lived at a time when so many things hadn't been done yet, the idea of making music about something hadn't really been done. And now people do it all the time."
Among Seeger’s hits are “Where Have All The Flowers Gone,” “Turn! Turn! Turn!” and “If I Had A Hammer.”
