Late Mickey Rooney Receives Twitter Love From Stars

He made an indelible mark on Tinseltown and Mickey Rooney's passing on Sunday (April 6) caused a strong celebrity reaction in the Twitterverse.

Alec Baldwin lamented, “An old pal of mine is gone. One of Hollywood's rare gentlemen…” while Rose McGowan shared, “Thanks for the years of entertainment, Mickey Rooney. Blessed to have met this character tcm film…”

“Girls” star Lena Dunham wrote, “Mickey Rooney got all the best babes despite being short as hell. #RIP beautiful man,” and Maria Menounos added, “Just heard about Mickey Rooney's passing..legend and friend.will share pics and video tom for sure.”

Sharing one of Rooney’s classic jokes, Nina Garcia tweeted, “I buy women shoes and they use them to walk away from me. RIP Mickey Rooney. A Hollywood legend.”

“Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo” star Rob Schneider mentioned, “The last of the great 1930's Film Stars has died! Mickey Rooney was the number 1 star in the World in 1937!” and Johnny Knoxville kept it simple- “RIP Mickey Rooney xoxoxo.”
