Goffin was probably best known for penning hits like “Pleasant Valley Sunday,” “Crying in the Rain,” “Take Good Care of My Baby,” and the late Whitney Houston’s “Saving All My Love For You.”

In 1959, Gerry married the legendary Carole King, though they ended up getting divorced in 1968. Later he remarried Michele Goffin.
