It’s going to be a profitable weekend for Marvel Studios and Disney, as their new superhero flick “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” made a killing at the box office last night (April 3).

Kicking things off with $10.2 million so far, the Chris Evans-starring movie is expected to bring in between $90 million and $100 million by the time Monday morning rolls around.

In comparison, back in November “Thor: The Dark World” had a $7.1 million Thursday opening and ended up earning $85.7 million for the weekend.

And with international figures topping $100 million thus far, it seems “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is a shoo-in for the biggest April opening of all time.

Per the synopsis, “Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and battles a new threat from old history: the Soviet agent known as the Winter Soldier.”

The star-studded cast also includes Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Redford, and Sebastian Stan.
