Brooke Shield's Mom, Teri Shields, Dies at 79
One of the earliest Hollywood "momagers," Brooke Shields' mother Teri passed away last week at the age of 79. She died in Manhattan after a long illness related to dementia.
Back when her daughter was just 11 months old, the single mother landed an Ivory soap ad for baby Brooke.
Controversy arose when Teri arranged for nude photographs to be taken of the aspiring starlet when she was only 10 years old. At age 11, she played a prostitute in the 1978 movie, "Pretty Baby."
Sharing a bit of the spotlight herself, the star's mother appeared with her in "Wanda Nevada," "Endless Love," and "Backstreet Dreams."
