Sara Bareilles and Rebel Wilson Sign On for “The Little Mermaid” Stage Show!

With all the buzz surrounding a “Frozen” Broadway show in the works, Disney is also working to adapt “The Little Mermaid” for the stage.

According to the production company, Sara Bareilles will play Ariel alongside Rebel Wilson, who will take on the role of Sea Witch Ursula. Furthermore, John Stamos, Darren Criss and Tituss Burgess are all on the roster as well!

“Frozen” Broadway Show Coming in 2018!

Given the enormous success of the “Frozen” motion picture, it’s not surprising that Disney is developing a fully-fledged Broadway production due to open in two years.

According to the company’s rep, Frozen Broadway will kick off in Spring 2018, just after a new holiday television special to air on ABC at the end of 2017.

In addition to the announcement of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” Harry Potter fans are also rejoicing over a forthcoming stage production.

Set 19 years after the final Potter book, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” will star Swaziland-born Noma Dumezweni as Hermione Granger, making for an entirely new look for the character.
