Britney Spears Enlists In Lauper's "True Colors"
Despite the fact that the release of her new album has been delayed until 2008, Britney Spears has made fans happy by announcing that she'll be appearing in concert with pop singer/gay rights activist Cyndi Lauper.
In the 'True Colors' show to be held at Los Angeles' Greek Theatre on June 30, the 'Lucky' songstress will be teaming up with Erasure, Debbie Harry, The Dresden Dolls, The MisShapes with special guest Jeffree Star and host Margaret Cho.
According to TMZ, on Friday (June 22), Britney had called in final auditions to get two male backup dancers for the upcoming 'True Colors' gig, but she failed to show up herself. Not the best of signs, but we'll let it slide. She does have a new parakeet to take care of, after all.
Anyways, the whole search started with around 150 aspiring Britney Spears backup dancers who were put through the paces for her unreleased song.
One of the dancer's, Sam Pete, told People magazine of the yet-to-be-released track, "It was dope. It reminded me of that one song you hear at 1:50 a.m., when they call last call at a club, and it's the hottest, nastiest song you've ever heard in your life and you've just got to put your drink down and dance to it. You've got no choice. Your body is insisting on it."
With less than a week of preparations left, we'll keep you updated with any and all Britney Spears 'True Colors' concert related updates. In the meantime, enjoy the pictures of Britney opting to do a little shopping on Friday, rather than attend her own meeting.
