Stepping off the set of her upcoming film "The Gambler," Brie Larson garnered herself a little added exposure by covering the March 2014 issue of ASOS magazine.

The 24-year-old actress posed for a delightfully artsy Ben Morris-shot spread while opening up about everything from her acting career to her "The Spectacular Now" co-star Shailene Woodley.

Highlights from Miss Larson's interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to ASOS!

On her career:
“I wanted to be a marine biologist, an interior designer, I wanted to work at the diner down the road… in fact, at times I wanted to do anything other than this job! I had this thing where every time I thought, ‘Forget it, I’m not doing it any more. I’m tired of not feeling good enough.’ Out of the blue, some movie I auditioned for months ago would happen. Something would always pull me back to it, and it would give me just enough money and just enough confidence to carry on acting.”

On her thoughts about auditions:
“It’s so contrived and so demeaning. Everything is scrutinized. The way you walk, how you sit in the chair, how you say hello, and it’s horrible. It’s every day. You start to feel like you’re not a real person any more. At least now, I feel like if I put the time and effort into audition, people will pay attention, as opposed to someone checking their phone under the table.”

On Shailene:
“[She] is magic. She’s just real, through and through. Does things her own way, but doesn’t force her opinion upon you. In a sea of black-tie events, with a bunch of people you don’t know, she will come up to you and give you the best hug you’ve ever received, and talk about anything other than the weird place you’re in.”
