Target Passes on Beyonce’s Latest Album
Last week, Beyonce Knowles caught everyone off guard when she unleashed her new solo album on iTunes without any promotion or prior warning, and Target has declined to carry the physical copies.
Spokesperson Erica Julkowski told Billboard that the company isn’t interested in partnering with Knowles given the method with which she released the record.
Julkowski explained, "At Target we focus on offering our guests a wide assortment of physical CDs, and when a new album is available digitally before it is available physically, it impacts demand and sales projections.”
Thankfully for Beyonce, she managed to move 823,773 units in three days via iTunes, so it’s unlikely the Target diss is causing any sleep loss.
