Each year she selects her picks for her annual Most Fascinating Person of 2012, and Barbara Walters' choice for 2012 is none other than General David Petraeus.

Last night (December 12) the “View” host unveiled her top 10 list, and explained why the disgraced former CIA Director scored the top spot.

"He is, without question, one of the finest officers and military minds of his generation. Then shockingly, he resigned this fall as head of the CIA because he'd had an extramarital affair with Paula Broadwell, his biographer. ... The story was irresistible – the keeper of the nation's secrets unable to conceal his own."

Barbara added, “This is about military honor combining with sex and lies in the digital age.”

Also on the Fascinating list were celebrities like One Direction, Ben Affleck, E L James, Prince Harry, Honey Boo Boo, Seth MacFarlane, Hilary Clinton, Chris Christie, and Gabby Douglas.
