BAFTA Nominations Spark Celebrity Reactions

It’s going to be another great year at the BAFTA Awards, and with the impressive field of nominees just announced, many of the honorees have shared their excitement.

“American Hustle” director David O. Russell gushed over the film’s 10 nominations, calling it “mind blowing.” “I am humbled and beyond grateful. It means everything to have our actors and our crafts people, who put their hearts into this picture, acknowledged."

Additionally, Judi Dench set a new record with her 15th BAFTA nod, this time for her hwork in “Philomena.” She told press, "I'm very proud to be associated with this film and I thank BAFTA voters for their nomination. I'm honored and thrilled to be in such fine company."

Meanwhile, Leonardo DiCaprio credited “The Wolf of Wall Street” mastermind Martin Scorsese for his mention. "These nominations reflect the determination of an extraordinary cast, crew and of course the great Marty Scorsese.”

And Emma Thompson sounded excited about being selected for her role in “Saving Mr. Banks.”

"Getting the nod from BAFTA means I can hold my head high on Piccadilly. I haven't been able to say that in years.”
