While celebrities are usually spotted checking out high-end boutiques and expensive department stores, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz were all about being frugal yesterday (July 6).

The newlywed parents-to-be were spotted strolling around the Melrose Trading Post held at Fairfax High School, holding hands while looking for bargains.

Looking more pregnant every day, the “Little Miss Obsessive” songstress sported a black maternity tank top and a long black skirt, while her Fall Out Boy hubby stuck to his usual black t-shirt and jeans topped off with a black fedora.

Following their retail jaunt, Pete and Ashlee headed over to Toast Restaurant in Los Angeles to meet a girlfriend for lunch. At one point, Mr. Wentz took off to give the ladies some time for girl talk.
