Ariel Winter's Mother Denies Abusing "Modern Family" Child Star
After "Modern Family" star Ariel Winter was removed from her mother's home due to abuse allegations, Chris Workman has come forward to deny any wrongdoing.
The 14-year-old actress's mother tells People, "It's all untrue, it's all untrue," claiming, "I have my doctor's letter that my daughter's never been abused. … I have stylists' letters that she's never been abused."
However, on October 3rd, Court papers allege that Ariel was subjected to "ongoing physical abuse (slapping, hitting, pushing) and emotional abuse (vile name-calling, personal insult's about minor and minor's weight, attempts to 'sexualize' minor, deprivation of food, etc.) for an extended period of time."
Consequently, the judge granted her older sister, Shanelle Gray, temporary guardianship of the young actress and ordered her mother not to contact her daughter or come within 100 feet of her. A follow-up hearing will be held on November 20th.
