Anne Hathaway Explains Lying Low: "I Had Just Taken a Little Bit of a Beating from the Internet"
Continuing to hone her talents, Anne Hathaway went to a singing lesson in Los Angeles on Thursday (January 30).
The "Les Misérables" star looked cute in a black and white striped sweater, black skinnies, and matching boots as she headed back outside.
Fans may have noticed her absence after last year's awards season, but the 31-year-old actress reveals that it was a planned move.
While promoting her new low-budget flick, "Song One," at Sundance, Anne explained how she ended up back on screen, saying, "We had been working on the script for almost two years before we actually started shooting. All of the elements came together in that moment," Hathaway explained. "I don't want to bring up a sore subject or anything — I think my publicist is probably like 'No, no no' — but I had just taken a little bit of a beating from the Internet."
In another interview with the Huffington Post, Ms. Hathaway added, "My impression is that people needed a break from me."
Last year, her many honors were marred by backlash about her acceptance speeches, dress drama reports, and perceived coolness.
