Angelina Jolie Talks “Unbroken” with Louis Zamperini on “Today”
As one of the most passionate and hard-working women in Hollywood, Angelina Jolie poured her heart and soul into directing “Unbroken.”
Earlier today (February 25), the “Changeling” chick was featured on the “Today” show along with Louis Zamperini, the man who inspired the project.
Interestingly enough, Louis’ balcony looks out over Jolie’s home in the Hollywood Hills, though the two only recently met.
Ang noted, "I imagine that for the last 10-something years, (Zamperini has) been sitting there having a coffee in the morning and wondering who's going to make this movie. And I've been sitting in my room laying there thinking, 'What am I supposed to be doing with my life? I wanna do something important ... I need some help. I need some guidance. Where is it?' And it was right outside my window."
As for her decision to take on the film, Jolie declared, "(I feel) such a huge responsibility to get it right, because I love (Zamperini) so much, and because he's helped me so much in my life.”
But in order to get the backing of a studio, Angelina had to make her own storyboards and meet with multiple Hollywood honchos. “This has been the hardest thing I've ever done. I pitched my butt off.”
