Andy Samberg Announces "SNL" Departure

Shortly removed from news that Kristen Wiig has made her departure, "Saturday Night Live" has now lost another seasoned vet in Andy Samberg.

The 33-year-old comedic actor announced that he's making his exit from "SNL" after seven years on the long-running NBC sketch comedy.

Breaking the news to the L.A. Times, Samberg said, “It’s an incredibly emotional and strange moment in my life. Obviously it’s not a huge shock, but I did officially decide not to come back."

Also commenting on former co-star Miss Wiig's recent decision to try something new, “She kept saying it just feels like it’s her time. I connect with that. Something about it just feels like it’s the moment. My contract’s up and I did so much more than I ever thought I would ever even do.”
