Outkast Reportedly Making a Comeback at Coachella
It's been seven years since Outkast bandmates Big Boi and Andre 3000 parted ways, but the pair is reportedly slated to unite in next year.
According to Billboard magazine, the pair is ending their hiatus at the Indio, California Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in upcoming April, 2014.
A source told the publication that there has been "some conversations" about Andre and Big Boi deciding to make a reunion happen while another insider stated that "all systems are go."
Although it sounds as though things are in place for the reunion, Andre might have had second thoughts. Earlier this year, the rapper told Spin magazine that fans shouldn't be surprised if the pair doesn't make a joint appearance on Frank Ocean's "Pink Matter" remix as an official come back.
"I was approached as a solo artist by both Frank Ocean & Tip. I discussed musical direction with each other’s and completed my verses. It was after that when Big Boi's name came up," Andre explained.
"I never want to mislead our audience - I worried that some would think these were Outkast collaborations. These songs are not Outkast collaborations. I discussed this rationale with Big, Frank, T.I. and everyone agreed. That is why I was surprised to read about these remixes."
In 2007, Outkast announced that they were taking an indefinite hiatus after releasing “Idlewild” soundtrack in 2006.
