Amy Adams Slams Valentino Opportunism At Philip Seymour Hoffman Funeral

She starred in several films with Philip Seymour Hoffman, so Amy Adams was especially grieved at the late actor’s wake last week.

Unfortunately, the “American Hustle” actress happened to be carrying a Valentino handbag as she attended the funeral and the Italian label ended up using a photo of Adams from the event to promote the purse.

Valentino put out a press release that stated they were “pleased to announce the new Valentino Garavani Rockstud Duble bag” and noted that Amy was carrying it in the photograph.

Soon thereafter, Ms. Adams’ rep fired off a statement to say she “is not a paid spokesperson for Valentino” and using an image from Hoffman’s wake to promote the bag is “truly appalling.”

In response, a spokesperson from Valentino declared, "We sincerely regret releasing a photo to the media this morning of Amy Adams with a Valentino bag. We were not aware the photograph was taken while she was attending the wake of Philip Seymour Hoffman. It was an innocent mistake, and we apologize to Ms. Adams who was not aware, or a part of, our PR efforts."
