“American Idol” Lives On for Season 14
It’s no secret that they’ve had to weather some stormy ratings woes, but the team at “American Idol” is determined to soldier on.
FOX just announced they’ll renew the talent/reality show for a fourteenth season, with auditions slated to kick off on June 18th in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
From there, the judges (who haven’t been announced just yet) will travel to fourteen other cities including Nashville, Los Angeles and New Orleans in search of singers worthy to appear on the program.
Meanwhile, “The X Factor” got the axe and judge/producer Simon Cowell says he’s glad for his time on both shows- "I've had a fantastic time over the last 12 years, both on The X Factor and American Idol. And apart from being lucky enough to find some amazing talent on the shows, I have always had an incredible welcome from the American public (most of the time!)."
